Typically, the mezzanine steps will have a minimum spacing of 800mm, 1,000mm, or 1,200mm between handrails. The specifications of the step widths, risers, tread depths, edge protection, handrails, and mid-landings (where there are more than 12 risers) are set for each type of use.
